Just utterly ruined it for me.
There are actually some good scenes and scares and up until the final quarter it is an ok film and much as the book but the last quarter was a shambles and I could hardly watch.
At least the consulted Stephen King got the ending he always wanted.
To sum up, this film will suit the noobs but sadly not the purists. Kubrick's The Shining still is and will remain a stand alone masterpiece.
